A Happy Birthday Memory

A Happy Birthday memory & surprise for Lisa, from our son...28 yrs ago, today. On May 28, 1986 we attended an Oakland A's game for Lisa's birthday...Anyway, when the A's left handed hitting outfielder Mike Davis (we still hate that guy)...came to the plate...he fouled off a pitch down the left field line...& with our Ryan sitting between us, I reached for the baseball...missed.... & came up empty...but the ball bounced and hit our own 3 year old baseball fan...We were a bit frantic and it scared the heck out of us... We rushed Ryan to the medic, then the hospital...And Thankfully he turned out fine... A black eye and bump ... smiling (as always)...and still a baseball player (Love those Little Slugger PJ's)...& now all these years later, he is still a fan and works in baseball...A memorable Happy Birthday when I think about it...since Lisa was 31 years old then...& Ry is 31 now...Happy Birthday again Lisa

Our Sundays Past

I used to have a family and we'd meet over at the house…On a Sunday

We'd  bring the kids and play those games in the backyard…On a Sunday

You know,  they would cook all day and barbecue…Gee-the meals tasted great…On a Sunday

We would watch the  ball games on the big screen... with the brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers… On a Sunday

And everyone had a good time and would make small talk & laugh…On a Sunday

Now the kids are gone...they've grown with lives of their own, and things are different... On our Sundays

And those close to us...now have passed or have changed...and so have those memories...of our Sundays
